As a follow up to the 1988 20th Anniversary Awards, the Players decided to once again to hold "People's Choice" Awards, named "The Dame Awards". Nominees were supplied on a ballot and voted on by those who elected to mail in their ballots...it made for a fun evening. The Awards went this way: (in reverse order) Best Director: T.J. Rand, for Oliver! & by write-in (cool huh!) Mo Demers, for You Can't Take It With You. Best Actor in a Musical: Michael Riel Chagnon in Peter Pan (Capt.
